Green and clear Surfite and Sterling Silver fidget necklace
Lush green colour runs through this Surfite spinner. Green flecks swirl and feather out through the clear resin given it a really natural feel of movement just like Sea Kelp swaying in the clear waters. This sustainable resin is a by-product of surfboard repairs. Once a surfboard is repaired any leftover resin is swirled with colour and left to cure in small pots. These harden resin blocks are then sent down to my studio here in South Yorkshire where I use adapted lapidary techniques to carve and shape it.
This Spinner pendant has been carved into the shape of a Lifebuoy with soft tapered edges and a chunky Sterling Silver core; which allows it to move and spin freely on the bail. The symbolism behind this pendant relates back to the start of the Covid pandemic and the idea that despite everything we need to ‘Be Brave and Make Waves’. The soothing movement of running and spinning the lifebuoy through your fingers can help you to soothe away your worries and dream of days by the sea.
Dimensions: The Sea Kelp Pendant comes on an 18’’ chain and is roughly 2 cm across and has drop length of 3.4 cm.
Post and Packaging: UK postage is free and the necklace comes presented in one of my personalised recycled cardboard gift boxes and features a neat little bow and information sheet perfect to give us a gift. All outer packaging is either upcycled or made from recycled materials. If you require worldwide postage then please do get in contact and I will sort this for you.
Care Instructions: When the pendant needs a clean use hot soapy water and a soft bristle brush (e.g. Toothbrush). A soft polishing cloth can also be used. As with all Silver jewellery keep them away from perfume, sunscreen and other solvents. Where possible keep the necklace in the box to help reduce tarnishing and scratching of the resin when not being worn.
