The perfect every day ear stud; but with a hidden story of sustainability and eco-conscious design. These blue sea storm ear studs are hand carved from surplus resin leftover from custom surfboard repairs. This Scottish Surfite is left to harden in small chunks before being sent down to my studio where I hand carve them into unique pieces of jewellery.
The design of these ear studs has been kept deliberately simple to highlight the beauty of the Surfite. These studs are a swirling pool of blue and white with flashes of green. Carved with an elegantly domed surface just like the top of a boat fender. A Sterling Silver rivet holds the Surfite and ear peg in place. This simple design is based on rock fortifications you will see along the cliff edges.
Lightweight and easy to wear they measure 10.7 mm across and have a height of 5.5 mm.All orders to the UK include free Postage & Packaging. Each piece of jewellery is sent in a recycled cardboard gift box and finished with a beautiful recycled paper pulp ribbon.
When the ear studs need a clean use hot soapy water and a soft bristle brush (e.g., Toothbrush). A soft polishing cloth can also be used. As with all Silver and or resin jewellery, keep them away from perfume, sunscreen and other solvents. Where possible keep the ear studs in the box to help reduce tarnishing and scratching of the resin when not being worn.
