Ever wondered what jewellery a mermaid would wear? I always imagined they would wear something like this. Inspired by Cornish and Welsh Foklore about the maidens of the sea.
This necklace features a big Scallop Shell sitting alongside a Starfish and a beautiful striped piece of Surfite. Each charm can easily be slidden of the chain so you can mix and match depending on your outfit. When worn together they are designed to cluster together and will constantly move and change so you will always get different glimpses of them.
The Scallop shell has cast beautifully in Sterling Silver and has retained all its wonderful ridges and furrows. Whilst the Starfish has been designed to be back-to-front, as I love the hidden detail on the underside of a Starfish. The Surfite has been set in a complementary Silver setting with an open back to maximise light through the piece. The Surfite itself features unusually straight stripes of rainbow of colours from pink, orange, blue and green to name a few.
Details: The necklace is fully hallmarked and you can find the marks on the underside of the shell. The Scallop Shell measures 2. 8 cm by 2.5cm. It has a drop of 3.7 cm from the chain. The Starfish measures just over 1.5 cm whilst the Surfite charm is 1. 6cm. They come displayed on a square cut mirror box chain which is 45cm or 18’’ in length.
All orders to the UK include free Postage & Packaging. Each piece of jewellery is sent in a recycled cardboard gift box and finished with a beautiful recycled paper pulp ribbon.
When the necklace needs a clean use hot soapy water and a soft bristle brush (e.g., Toothbrush). A soft polishing cloth can also be used. As with all Silver jewellery keep them away from perfume, sunscreen and other solvents. Where possible keep the necklace in the box to help reduce tarnishing and scratching of the resin when not being worn.
