What is Precious? Running from the 3rd of May until 28th of June 2025 @ New Ashgate Gallery, Farnham

This fabulous showcase explores the concept of 'precious' and what it means in a world of mass consumption and fast fashion. It asks the viewer to reconsider the value imposed on certain materials and instead shift the focus to value the craftmanship and compelling stories behind the work.

Tangled - Is a new necklace inspired by the question of What is Precious? and is made entirely from recycled and repurposed materials. The main body of the necklace features three sizes of recycled forged Sterling Silver interlinked rings, hand-carved striped Surfite discs and repurposed fishing lure beads. The fishing lure beads have been cleaned and re-drilled but left in their natural seaworn state.

It took over three months of nearly daily beach cleans to collect and sort the fishing lines which gets tangled in the seaweed and causes huge problems for the marine life.
